About us
Why are we doing this?
Poverty touches you. It strikes you at the core of your being if you experience how people struggle to survive after years of war and violence. You see how children and young people have become victims and often cannot escape their hopeless situation. Their dire poverty hits you at your core. A shocking image that you'll never forget.
You want to help then. But how? Giving money to governments and large projects usually does not solve anything. We decided to spend our money directly in vocational education for poverty stricken young people with little hope. We invite you to participate.
Key points for Schools For Youth projects are:
- Enable and support sufficient (vocational) training programs and studies
- Offer courses and education to youth without financial means
- Support local communities to initiate and embed courses and jobs in local social structures
- Support and stimulate local entrepreneurs to invest in vocational jobs and stimulate students
- Create citizenship, social solidarity and community spirit by re-establishing social structures in the project
- Recruit individual and institutional support for the project Positive development of youth,
- Provide trauma processing programs
- Build on a stable society and allow youth to escape poverty at their own power and with their own means.
The Schools for Youth Foundation takes a different approach
We work intensively with the communities around the schools and enterprises.
We have direct contacts with the schools that we support.
We know the students we support and the community where they live.
We monitor the organizations with whom we work so that nothing is misappropriated.
