John Fisher Youth Initiative Foundation in Lira, Uganda
The John Fisher Youth Initiative Foundation (JFYIF) in Lira, Uganda focuses on children and young people who live and grow up in poverty and in post-conflict areas attempting to recover from recent war. JFYIF has no profit motive. The objective of JFYIF is to expand education options and opportunities for youth living in poverty. JFYIF is a non-profit organization and is led by its Director, George Okello Rember. JFYIF manages a Nursery, a Primary School and a Teachers Training Institute. JFYIF is a registered legal entity and is accredited by Kyambogo University in Kampala, Uganda. JFYIF has a clear management structure, transparent accounting, and a clear and robust business model.
In addition to paying students, JFYIF also plans to award a number of subsidized slots to children who belong to the target group of Schools for Youth
JFYIF and its ongoing activities with at-risk youth are sustained by the relentless efforts of Director George Okello Rember and his drive to maintain professional and transparent accounting for all funds to the Foundation.
John Fisher Teachers Training Institute is accredited by Kyambogo University in Kampala.
